A grown-up and a child reading an oversized storybook in an armchair; three painted paths branch out of its pages toward a lighthouse, a hot-air balloon, and a dragon on a map

The book you shape for someone you love — right down to how it ends

Write the premise, name the heroes, set the destinations — we build the illustrated book in between. A branching adventure where they pick the path, or a classic chapter book that reads straight through. Read it together online, or print a keepsake they'll pull off the shelf for years.

AI does the drawing. You do the deciding — and nothing is illustrated until you've read and approved every word.

One price per book, no subscription · for ages 3 to teen (grown-up gift books too)

Usually 20 minutes, occasionally up to an hour — we email you when it's done · you approve everything before it's illustrated · 14-day make-it-right guarantee

How it's made

The writing and the illustrations are generated by AI, working only from what you give it: your premise, your heroes and exactly how they look, the tone, the reading age, and the ending — or endings — it's allowed to reach.

Then it stops and waits for you. Twice. Once at the story outline, once at the complete draft — and at both you can rewrite any line, redraw any picture, or throw the whole thing out and start again, free. Nothing is illustrated until you say so. That's the part most of this category doesn't have.

A one-of-a-kind illustrated book used to mean commissioning an illustrator for hundreds of dollars and waiting weeks. This is what makes it an afternoon — and it's still your book, because you wrote the parts that matter.

Two kinds of books to give

Branching adventure

The kid steers the story. You define 2–8 endings; we build real branching between them — every re-read can land somewhere new.

Classic chapter book

One story read cover to cover — illustrated chapters building to the single ending you choose. The classic bedtime shape.

Same price either way — you pick the format when you start a book.

1

You bring the idea

A premise, the kids (or heroes) by name and description, and the ending — or endings — you want the story to reach. Or press Brainstorm and edit what it suggests.

2

The story takes shape

Adventures get a validated story map — every choice leads somewhere, every route earns one of the endings you chose. Chapter books get a clean chapter-by-chapter outline. Either way, you approve it before any book is written.

3

A real book comes out

Illustrated pages with characters that look the same on every one, a cover made from the story's best scene, readable online, shareable by link, and exportable as a print-ready PDF or EPUB keepsake.

10 illustration styles

Same scene, same characters — pick the book's look and every page keeps it.

Their heroes, drawn consistently

Each character gets a reference portrait that anchors every illustration — same face, same glasses, same dog, page after page.

Real branching, verified

In adventures, the story map is verified before you approve it: no dead ends, no unreachable endings, and a picky-editor pass reads every route end to end.

You approve before it renders

Two checkpoints — the map and the full draft — where you can edit anything before illustrations are made.

A keepsake, not a screenshot
